Academic Life

From orientation to commencement, academic life at the University of Minnesota Law School goes well beyond the legal fundamentals. Learning thrives in the classroom but also extends to hands-on volunteer and clinical experiences, rigorous legal writing and advocacy training, journals and moot court opportunities, and a fascinating range of lectures, debates, and panel discussions on timely legal topics.

The Law School’s place within the world-class University of Minnesota affords students with opportunities to bridge interdisciplinary boundaries through a joint or dual degree program. Or, students can hone their expertise through a concentration in Health Law and Bioethics, Human Rights, or Labor and Employment law.

No matter what a student’s goals are in earning a law degree, the Law School’s academic life is designed to help graduates not only think like lawyers, but also successfully perform the roles of lawyers.
